Dead Space

18/11/2015

The pilot phase of this project began in May 2005 with artist David Little working with groups of young people from Barton, Blackbird Leys and East Oxford.

Over a 10 day period young people documented areas in their neighbourhoods which they considered to be ‘dead spaces’ and discussed with the artist ways in which they could be improved.

A project that forefronts the importance of giving thought to spaces that are typically and so easily sidelined or taken for granted.

Exhibited at Modern Art Oxford

In June of 2015, the project was captured and exhibited at Modern Art Oxford, further promoting a wider public to consider the engagement it sparked.
