Luminox
Luminox was a special highlight of the Oxfordshire 2007 celebrations, as part of the county's year-long millennium celebration coordinated by Oxford Inspires, with Fusion and Oxford Contemporary Music (OCM). Oxford's historic Broad Street was unrecognisable between 15-17 March as it was transformed into a spectacular fire garden, creating a stirring shared community experience and highlighting the value of Broad Street as a beautiful central piazza and a focus for public gathering and art. In-Tent-City
Giving new meaning to the word 'canvas', the immensely popular In-Tent-City project culminated in a vibrant, thought-provoking show in South Park, Oxford in September 07. The outstanding success of this project has been the participatory experience and coming together of diverse community groups, who were able to express their thoughts and views in a dramatic and creative way, each tent making a strong visual statement with a commanding physical presence. The project has been incredibly well received and as a result continues to create further interest and projects, inspiring related works and touring exhibitions. Read more

Family Art Splash '08
‘Family Arts Splash workshops up and running again thanks to BMW Group Plant Oxford’s support!’ Fusion held a series of free arts and crafts workshops designed to provide an opportunity for family groups to get creative together under the guidance of professional artists. ‘Family Art Splash’ is aimed at all the family at any age, and includes a wide range of art activities. This series focused on visual arts and performance/story-telling children created puppets, turned them into characters and invented and told their story on stage!
The sessions at Rose Hill Children's Centre were held in association with Cowley Road Carnival, and built a giant puppet for the Parade!

In Transition
Three artists, Judie Waldmann, Claire Christie Sadler and Wren Hughes, ran a series of workshops at Fusion exploring the theme of 'transition' with members of the community.
In further collaboration with some of the participants, they prepared for an exhibition entitled 'response to TRANSITION'.
The exhibition was held at the North Wall Arts Centre, South Parade, Oxford.

Marston Northway Children's Centre and Schools Logo Project
Fusion Arts is working with six local pre-schools and schools in the Marston area and Marston Northway Children's Centre with children and their families to create a logo for Marston Northway Children’s Centre, reflecting the link between children and families.
This will be achieved through a series of participatory creative workshops with children and families. The workshops will involve very young children (most of them under 5 years old) and their families. There will be a combination of drama to stimulate the children and their families (role playing, words associations…) and visual arts (translation of the drama sessions into visual designs and ideas).

Isis and Headington Schools Partnerships are working with Fusion to deliver a series of after-school art clubs on the theme of 'Hone-made' - making costumes, instruments and songs! Workshops start at the end of April and leading up to Cowley Road Carnival events in July.

'Witch Way' - Open Set Film Project
What were the spooky goings on in Boars Hill woods last weekend?! The witches and mysterious ghostly figures crashing through the woods were part of a 10 minute film being made by the Open Set crew, an inclusive group of young people working with professional film makers Jewson Film Productions. The script's come from the young people's ideas and fun hands-on sessions have let them have a go at all the departments and jobs that make up a professional film shoot. Read more

Bernwood Public Art Project, Barton
Public Green Space, Art Interventions
Artist Rob Turner, is currently working with community groups in Barton to generate design ideas for public art pieces as part of the redevelopment of the play area.
Working with Oxford City Council's Parks Department, Fusion is using stone that many Barton residents remember from the old Bernwood School and reusing them as entrance markers, focal features and benches on the site.
The new play area is due to be ready at the end of March 2009.
