The participants used their own words and animated illustrations to express their personal stories. They worked together on an animated film over a period of months, during which they learned the creative and technical aspects of filmmaking and animation. The project was linked with an associated project that ran in Banbury, and the films were screened in Oxford at Oxford Film and Video Makers in 2008.

The group worked with youth centres in the area, and offered a platform for second generation young people from the Asian Communities in Banbury and Oxford to explore cultural stereotypes about themselves that they had experienced both here and in the country of their family’s origin.

Associated groups were the Animation Station in Banbury, Union Street Centre for Young People, East Street Centre, Oxford Film and Video Makers for screening, also including shared events at Ovada and Pegasus Theatre.

The project is associated with Faces of Oxfordshire 2007, Local network Fund, Oxford Inspires and Oxford City Council.
