Fusion Arts is currently collaborating with Age UK on their Lonely Roads project to promote awareness of loneliness in both Old Age and youth, the two times when we are most likely to experience loneliness in our lives. Fusion is putting on a number of events such as ‘One Bowl’, a social sculpture performance by Dianne Regisford, and participatory workshops to create a clay figurine installation at Elder Stubbs Festival and the Blackbird Leys Fair, to generate ideas, suggestions, words, textual material, artistic creations and capture thoughts on isolation and loneliness in younger and older age. Ideas generated will be shared with Age Uk, poet Charles Bennett, and one of the UK’s nationally recognised composers, Bob Chilcott. These ideas gathered over two months will be used to inspire a new choral work, ‘A Mass for Our Age’, as part of a campaign to promote awareness of loneliness in these two age groups.
If you are interested in ‘One Bowl’ or any of Fusion’s other activities as part of Lonely Roads, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
