An Arts Council funded project, Fusion and Pegasus Theatre joined forces to run Oxford Extra Arts (formerly Aesop).
In Tent Arts
Oxford Extra gave children from the Isis and Headington partnerships the opportunity to take part in multi agency out of school hours learning programme in which artists from various mediums such as drama, dance and visual arts, collaborated and worked with the children during after school workshops, to create pieces of work to showcase at community events.
The work was presented at The Cowley Road Food Festival and the Jamboree at the Pegasus Theatre in July 2006.
This led to In-Tent-Arts, a series of after school workshops that took place in twelve schools in the City. The school children and artists worked towards a performance and the creation and embellishment of three art tents. The ideas were stimulated through an inset day for artists and school staff at Pitt Rivers Museum, using the treasures and objects in their magical collections.
