Artist David Little worked with local older people to create a subtle and evocative art trail through St Clements and Angel meadow, starting and ending at Fusion Arts on Princes Street.
Part of the InSite Public Art Commission.
A series of quotes, drawn from conversations with elderly people talking about their sense of place and experience of walking, were infused into brickwork along the Healthy Walking route.
Stonecarver Simon Keeley did many of them on site, prompting further engagement from the local community, and others were imprinted on the pre-fired bricks at the Badderidge brick factory.
Some of the texts are in languages other than English. Ten quotes are carved or embossed into walls along the route.
